About

Hello, I’m Carys.

I’m a journalist based in Bristol and write about the outdoors, fitness and travel. I’m also the Digital Editor of BBC Countryfile Magazine.

I love to travel overseas but I equally love exploring wild places in Britain. Since working for BBC Countryfile Magazine I have discovered some incredible spots in the UK, which has made me appreciate the rich variety of the British landscape. I spend much of my free time trail running, hiking or wild swimming, but I also enjoy making things and am currently dabbling in silversmithing. More on this to come!

I’ve written for the Guardian, Independent on Sunday, BBC Countryfile Magazine, Cooler Magazine, Outside Times, Women’s Running, Women’s Cycling, BikeRadar and Runner’s World, among other publications.

I also wrote a book called The Vegetarian Pocket Bible.

Digital media and strategy is another area I have expertise in and I previously managed London Marathon Events social media accounts and created a successful social media strategy for the brand, growing their audience and reach. I’ve since relaunched countryfile.com and grown the digital footprint of this popular BBC brand.

If you have an editorial, digital or social media project you’d like to discuss, please drop me a line here.
